Punctuation

I love this sign on the New Cross Road, not just because the house it's on is grander than a cottage* but also for the sheer variety of punctuation marks.

*It's no longer a rural location either, but New Cross was much greener in 1827 when the house was built.

Please can we have a picture of the whole "cottage"?

Of course you can! In fact, you've inspired me to another post on it along with its neighbours - they make an interesting group.

A picture of the complete cottage will bring back some memories for me as I used to pass it often.

I love the displaced punctuation. It reminds me that when I worked in Covent Garden, in Maiden Lane, behind the Strand, there was a café called the Café Casali. Except that 'café' was spelled not with an acute but with a grave accent - on the initial letter C!
