This 1959 film doesn't really feature some petrochemical brew - and barely enough mention of coal at the beginning and end to justify its inclusion in 'Mining Review 12th year no 10' - but does show scenes of pub life and the Charrington Brewery in Mile End Road, London.

The pub signs at the start of this film are priceless!!
Lovely bit of recent history from Charrington's. Presumably supplying sizeable network of tied pubs - wonder if any of them are still trading.
Charrington's merged with Bass in 1967; the tied pubs were moved into a separate company, now Mitchells & Butlers.
Of course, many have changed ownership - but traces of previous Charrington's connections remain. For example, the Toby jug sign for their Toby ales is still attached to the walls of some London pubs.
