Parading pachyderms
An elephant parade has arrived in London, with decorated fibreglass elephants dotting the capital until late June. They're here to raise money and awareness for Asian elephants, whose habitat is under threat.
However, spotting them isn't as easy as it might be thanks to the unhelpful map. Some also seem to have wandered away from their allocated spots. And frankly, one or two show a definite lack of effort:
All the same, spotting the better elephants is quite satisfying. My favourite to date is this one at City Hall.
It may look rather odd at first glance, but those 'spots' are actually windows. Peer through, and you'll see a tiny city - complete with its own parade of elephants!
