Yesterday, I went on a guided walk (about which, more later). The dark skies and occasional drizzle may not have been ideal weather, but on the other side of the road in Smithfield it was much worse: snow!
Not real snow though, but artificial winter weather created for the filming of a new Mini advert.

Advertising, eh? What lengths those characters will go to con the consumer ...;-)! But it does make a great pic. Smithfield is a favourite part of London for me; esp Little Britain & St Bartholomew's-the-Great.
Weather not much better here, if that's any consolation, Caroline!
It was certainly a little surreal! Smithfield is lovely, it's one of those areas where there always seems to be something more to explore.
I was up there that day too - there were two minis, one still in a big artic so maybe a spare. The cars had Italian number plates but in the commercial they are British - the trickery!
Here's the finished ad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQsNQ6olcLs

Thank you for the link, it's great to see the finished product! I have to say, it does nothing to endear Minis to me...
